back to vedas and back to life

Dearest, this may appear to be a new form of experience. Something that you have never seen or heard before.Don’t be surprised-this is not something that never existed before. In fact , once upon a time this was the life breath-the very soul of our beloved motherland Bharata. It is nothing extraordinary- just the exact replica of the age old vedic version of living a happy and joyful life.

Back to Vedas, Back to Life
Kasypa Veda Research Foundation is a trust founded and headed by Kulapathi Dr. M.R. Rajesh. The foundation has successfully become an entry point to the world of Vedic knowledge, practice as dreamt by Maharshi Dayananda Saraswathy. As a society Kerala were looking at Vedas as some thing of not much worth, and learni ng of Vedas are considered as mere wastage of time. The very first Chief Minister of Kerala, A Brahmin also a communist, lamented that he lost his 4 -5 years during his child hood by simply chanting (siksha) the Rig Veda mantras. Only Namboodiris (Kerala Brahmin) were allowed to conduct Vedic rites like Agnihotram and brihad yanjas. They were also not at all interested to do dainik agni hotra and other ishtis.
In such a sad situation Kulapathi Dr. M.R. Rajesh, a Vedic scholar and a Brahmin by birth, dreamt of chang ing the demo graphy of the society with the help of Mother Veda. Because he was fully aware of the mantrartha ‘stutha maya varadaa vedamataa.’
One centuary after the Samadhi of Maharshi Daya nanda Saraswa thy, Dr.M.R. Raj esh, who was much fond of the teachings of Rishi Dayananda started thinking about the sad plight of Kerala society. The one and only remedy he identified for the Kerala society was Dayananda’s old slogan ‘return to the Vedas’.
Four years be fore he started a vedic class in his own village near kozhikode, which was open to all irrespective of ca st, creed and sex. The promi nent Brahmin com muni ty put lot of efforts on him to make him stop Vedic classes. But nothing could stop his conviction and determination.
The class which he started with eight students began to grow. The enthusiasm shown by the students was overwhelming. From the village it reached cities. For the people of Kozhikode his classes were like ‘Pranava’- Always new! Last two years under his guid ance trust cond ucted a Veda prachar among the children in the name of Saras wath 2006 and 2007. It was attended by more than 300 children.
Today in Calicut alone more than 1000 stud ents are studing Vedas under this institution, we have classes also at Balussery, Pera mbra, Badagara etc.
Vedaratna puraskar
Inorder to bring attention of comm on people towards Veda and also for recog nising the great work done by Vedic Scholers, KVRF started an award to outstanding Vedic Pracharaks and scholers. - An award called Vedaratna Puraskar
Saraswatha Sabha
Last year KVRF started a new group under its guidance known as Sarasw atha Sabha. There are various groups work ing under this sabha. Like Yajna Sabha–looking aft er the yajna affairs,
As the part of Dayananda jayan thi, this year Sabha conducted Agnihotra in 500 selected ho uses and at 25 public places. This was attended by more than 25000 peo ple. In all the pub lic and private functions Sabha distributed a leaflet for free called ‘vedangalil enthu?’- What is there in the Vedas? And till the date we cir culated more than one lakh copies of it.
On November, 8th 2007 we celebrated Maharshi Dayananda Jayanthi and during that occasion there was a speech by Dr.M.R. Rajesh at the Kozhikode town hall which was attended by hun dreds of people on ‘the importance of Swami Dayanan da’s social and pol itical views in cont emporary time’.
To create a soc iety in a Vedic way we condu cted a training pro gra mme on ‘Shodasa kriya’. We found the sheer difference in the society in terms of various rites is one of the reas ons for the Hindu society to stay like different quarters. It was attended by more than 75 students. The train ing was headed by Sri Pundit Vasudeva Vedashrami from Rewa, Madhya Pradesh.

Three veda mantra revolutionThe percentage of Hindus who knew that the vedas are the foundation of their Dharma is very low. And it is still low the percentage of people who came through atleast one Vedamantra. To change the poor situation KVRF undertook a new programme called Three Veda Mantra Revolution. As per this KVRF will spread the mess age of Vedas to atleast one Lakh houses in Kerala in a time span of three months. In the next three months KVRF will distribute one Veda mantra with meaning (Rishi Dayananda’s commentary) printed in calendar size to One Lakh households. By this we will be able to reach out the message of immortal Vedas and the message of Rishi Dayananda to one lakh houses
